Joel B. Alper, DMD

Dr. Joel was raised in Lexington, MA and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Rochester in New York in 1989. In 1993, Dr. Joel earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. While in dental school, Dr. Joel was awarded a fellowship for research in the field of TMJ/TMD and received awards in Recognition for Excellence in Fixed Prosthodontics and Removable Partial Prosthodontics. In 1995, Dr. Joel earned a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies after completing his residency in Periodontology from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Joel has been a member of the TriCounty Dental Study Club since 1993 and the Assistant Treasurer of the East Middlesex District Dental Society for over ten years. He participates with Donated Dental Service, volunteering time to individuals who are disabled, elderly or medically compromised and cannot afford necessary treatment. Dr. Joel belongs to the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, and the Massachusetts Dental Society.

Dr. Joel lives in Bedford, MA with his wife, three children, and dog. He enjoys traveling with his family, reading, cooking, skiing, biking and running.

 


Nivedhitha (Nive) Ramesh, DMD

Dr. Ramesh was raised in Central MA, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biopsychology from Tufts University. Dr. Ramesh earned her Doctor in Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. She then earned a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies after completing her residency in Periodontology from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Ramesh lives in Charlestown, MA with her Australian Shepherd, Thatcher, and enjoys traveling, reading fiction, running, and hiking with her dog.

 


Paul B. Alper, DDS (1938-2013)

Dr. Paul Alper was raised in Gloucester, MA and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston University College of Liberal Arts in 1961. In 1965, Dr. Paul earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry. And in 1967, he earned a post-graduate degree in Periodontology from Boston University School of Dental Medicine. In 1971, after three years in the Air Force, Dr. Paul opened his private practice in Melrose, MA.

In 1973, Dr. Paul founded the Tri-County Dental Study Club, an influential study club for area dentists and on which he served as President since its inception. Dr. Paul was also the Treasurer of the East Middlesex District Dental Society for over ten years. Dr. Paul was a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, and the Massachusetts Dental Society where he was actively involved in the annual Yankee Dental Congress for almost fifteen years. Later in his career, Dr. Paul donated time over the course of a decade as a clinical instructor at Boston University School of Dental Medicine in the post-graduate department of Periodontology and Oral Biology.

Dr. Paul was very proud to practice with his son, Dr. Joel Alper, for over sixteen years.
